Each year, thousands of people from throughout the Northwest visit the Swift area to enjoy its four seasons of recreation, beauty, and natural splendor - including the internationally reknown Mount St. Helens National Monument. Unfortunately, these visits contribute little or nothing to Skamania County's economy. Visitors pay no taxes and have no opportunity to spend money at services or lodging.
